Dillard’s Fashion Runway

Dillard’s Fashion Runway took place shortly after South Walton Fashion Week in November 2013. I modeled lingerie **ooooH SeXy!*** This was a much smaller show, but still very fun. Sadly, I have not received any images back from the actual runway itself. Although, on a bright side, the girls and I had a blast taking selfies behind the scenes!

Dillard's Fashion Runway

Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream.
Make him the cutest that I’ve ever seen.
Give him two lips like roses and clover.
Then tell him that his lonesome nights are over.

Sandman, I’m so alone.
Don’t have nobody to call my own.
Please turn on your magic beam.
Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream.

Do people really think that a stay at home mom is really on equal footing with a woman who works and takes care of herself?

Do people really think that a stay at home mom is really on equal footing with a woman who works and takes care of herself?

A friend posted this blog on Facebook for others to read… They were disturbed by what this author posted. Here are just a few quotes of ignorance from the author:

I look down on young women with husbands and kids and I’m not sorry.

The dominate cultural voice will tell you these are things you can do with a husband and kids, but as I’ve written before, that’s a lie. It’s just not reality.

You will never have the time, energy, freedom or mobility to be exceptional if you have a husband and kids.

ig·no·rant (adjective) lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated.
(Just two examples calling out her B.S. – My 90 day road trip and a family of four who travel all over.)

Initially the feminist movement was meant to empower women to be whatever they wanted including wives and mothers. It was about supporting other women, not bashing other women. Real feminist really do respect other women and their choices. This is what our society is falling into. Before bashing someones decision, try this age-old saying…

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.

Feminism isn’t about being self supporting and traveling the world on your own. Its about being allowed to make that choice for yourself. Women couldn’t make choices about their lives or country (Some still CANT! That is what we SHOULD be focusing on!). Women couldn’t be doctors, lawyers, mechanics, journalists… They could only live at home with their parents until they were married off. Now we can CHOOSE to be doctors, lawyers, mechanics, journalists, OR stay-at-home moms.

Our value is NOT based off of what we do, but that we ARE.

Well, I am sorry Amy of the opinion you have developed bashing the same sex as you. Your negativity will not get you as far as had you chose to support, respect, and love others. Instead, it will only bring more negativity your way.

South Walton Fashion Week

Spent the month of October getting ready for #swfw first annual runway show. My day went as follows: waiting, waiting, waiting, more waiting, waiting, waiting, here it…gone. Ha! What an adrenaline rush. I could have slept for days afterwards…

SWFW

2013 GOODE GREEN – Mitchell Trantina

My designer was Jennifer Nina Evans who had just shown the same collection called “Addiction” at New York Fashion Week. Think Hot Topic meets High Fashion. My makeup was modeled after a look the artists described as a “Pretty Skeleton” and my hair was slicked back.

OMG! Famous people sweated in the clothes I am wearing right now! – Me

SWFW

It was such an awesome experience. I had so much fun and got to meet a lot of awesome people! You can see a video of the three day weekend here. This was the 3rd Fashion show that I have walked in. However, I would definitely consider this the biggest Fashion Show experience that I have been involved with so far!

Mostly, I am thankful that I did not fall off the stage!

2013 blog in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,700 times in 2013. If it were a cable car, it would take about 28 trips to carry that many people.

Toll Road to Consciousness

I do not always shoot just stills. Sometimes I also star in commercials, demo reels, and short films.

In this particular instance, I had the pleasure to work with Chris Johnston from 24fps on one of my first short films. It was a part of the Weekend Challenge. He was awesome to work with, and I was very excited to be featured on his vimeo account.

Check it out below!
